Venecia Williams is a post-secondary instructor and online developer. She is passionate about making post-secondary education equitable, diverse, and inclusive by raising awareness among colleagues around the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and being intentional about its implementation in her courses. Venecia also adapts and uses open educational resources to help lower financial barriers for students. She is also the co-founder of an EDI consulting company.

Jewell Gillies

Jewell Gillies (they/them) is a proud Two-Spirit Indigenous Person from the Kwakwakawakw First Nation in BC. They works for Okanagan College in their Aboriginal Services Department, Chair for the Sexual Violence Prevention Committee, Chair for the Positive Space Committee, and a Mental Health Training facilitator for the Okanagan College Wellness Peer Ambassador Program. Jewell is also the Executive Board Chair for Strengthening Connections, the Indigenous Recruitment Collective in BC for Post-Secondary and Career pathways recruitment. Jewell is also an independent contractor for organizations like BCcampus, working as their Indigenous Advisor on their Mental Health and Wellness and Sexual Violence and Misconduct OER’s.
